Did you know you can recycle Your Christmas Tree?

by Kathy Sparks on 01/04/11

Recycle Your Live Christmas Tree

Christmas trees less than eight feet tall will be collected and recycled at no additional cost during the first two weeks in January. Removing decorations allows trees to be recycled by grinding them into mulch. When placing your tree at the curb, please remove tree stands, ornaments, tinsel, lights and tree toppers. For trees larger than eight feet tall tall, please contact your refuse and recycling collection company for directions.

After the first two weeks in January, collection companies may charge an additional fee for Christmas tree removal. For more guidance, contact your refuse and recycling collection company.  Trees collected after  the first two weeks of January are not required to be recycled.

Other Recycling available for electronics, Household Hazardous Waste and more...See Fairfax County Calandar at
